Moscato Tap Milano was established in 2012 with the aim to promote AMERICAN TAP DANCE in Italy. After a lot of field testing, research and confrontation in other countries, founder Erminia Moscato felt the need to import in Italy this form of art with its charme, primordial instinct and magic. The ultimate goal was to make it become a revolutionary new generation lifestyle rather than just dance. The cultural association Moscato Tap Milano organizes WORKSHOPS, JAM SESSIONS and FESTIVALS in collaboration with the best American and international professionals in the field, in the attempt to make Italy go at the same pace with the rest of the world in this discipline. Moscato Tap Milano in 2013 inaugurated TAP TEMPLE International Tap center, with Erminia Moscato as managing director and Cartier Williams as artistic director. Moscato Tap Milano in Italy represents the European Tap Dance Foundation, an American establishment whose management team includes among others Erminia Moscato and Cartier Williams.

For one night only in Milan, the same dream that in the 20s and 30s enchanted the customers of New York’s Cotton Club comes true. Its most fascinating event takes place at the TAP DANCE JAM NIGHT, which embodies the soul of our events. Here you can admire the apotheosis of this discipline through the spectacular performances of our guests that will dance to the sound of live music. Jam in the music slam stands for “improvisation”: since the 1920s the best jazz players would engage improvisations in tune with a music theme without any arrangement or previous orchestration. Hence, a Tap-jam is a meeting of musicians and tap dancers that in this way have the unique opportunity to hang out together, try out new music and test their improvisation abilities in comparison with other artists. These meetings would often evolve into real competitions among tap and jazz virtuosos, in a way that their audience is inevitably surrounded by a supreme magic made of talent and experimentation. Performances are not exclusive but interactive and anyone in the audience can jump in and show or test their talent by dancing, singing, playing or acting. This is the supreme magic of jam sessions: innovation in performance with a touch of originality.
